Or should I say staying up with the little guy? I think he hit a growth spurt because for a while this week he wasn’t sleeping at night-wanting to eat every 2-3 hours and then his day naps were shot.
But we are hanging in there. Its the little things that keep me going through the day like these shots I was able to get. I now keep the camera on the floor with me at all times in case he does something I want to capture. Here he is rocking himself on the ottoman. He loves to do this, although he gets too excited sometimes and I have to catch him when he rocks himself backwards…
Cammon came home with a new small camera called the Flip. Its like $150 bucks and hand held. He loves it so far because it is super easy to keep in your pocket and carry wherever. Here he is trying it out on the boy of course. Scooter is in one of his favorite places-chilling in the living room on the couch:
Today he is 13weeks old and tomorrow he is 3 months. Some of those days have gone really fast-life in the whole perspective has gone fast, Cammon and I will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary, I am now 25 years old and I have a 3 month old kid. Day to day things that go by fast-”We are out of diapers again!” another wash full of burp cloths, “dang-its time for him to eat again,” another diaper change, “time for a nap!” “what its 6am-good morning!”
Other things go really slow-”hes only been down for 30mins, I hope that he goes another 30min.” “Its only 1pm-I feel like its 8pm,” he’s only been up for 40 minutes and I’ve exhausted all my entertaining resources… “hes only 3 months old, I feel like I’ve had a child forever now, when will he sleep through the night, when will he stay up longer than just an hour at a time so I can go run errands, etc…
Caring for a baby/child is work, and it takes time before you see that work as fun-I think it becomes fun when you start getting more sleep-I’m ALMOST there.

Keep up the good work! He looks so happy in that video, it’s great.
And I forgot to say it’s all worth it.
Oh, it is hard when they hit the three month growth spirt! He wants to eat ALL the time, I’m sure. But hey, him sleeping through the night is almost here. So very close. Just keep him happy for a few more days and hey, it is worth it!
My very favorite thing to do was put my finger out for Derek to hold tight while I was nursing. I felt like he knew the work I was doing and he appreciated it. Somehow he knew about all of that sleep I missed!
Okay – from the first shot – Lorri sitting on the couch, working. And there, just down the couch, Little Red Guy, just chillin’ and working on his knee action. Just like a real human. And then you get close, and he starts demonstrating and commenting on things in that soft, lovely voice of his.
Charm. Personality. What a guy!!!
